A shaking steering wheel or seat at a certain speed is one of the most common reasons drivers call mobile tire service.
What the problem looks like
It usually shows up between 80 and 120 km/h — the wheel or the whole car vibrates gently, and the shake often eases off if you slow down or speed up past that range.
Why it happens
When a tire is not evenly balanced, the heavier side of the wheel creates a force as it spins that transfers into the steering wheel and body. Imbalance usually follows a new tire fitting, a lost balancing weight, or normal wear over time.
Is it always the balancing
Not always — a similar vibration can come from a bent rim, uneven tire wear, or a suspension issue. That is why the wheel gets checked first on site, before deciding whether it needs balancing, rim straightening, or something else.
What balancing on site looks like
We fit the correct weight to the rim while the vehicle sits on level ground — a car park, driveway, or right outside your building. Afterwards the vibration at that speed disappears or drops significantly.
When to call
As soon as you notice a vibration that repeats at the same speed — the longer you drive with an imbalance, the faster the tire and suspension parts wear out.
